It is in the middle of a mining region being surrounded by both small scale and large scale mines which include: Venice mine, Dalny mine, Brompton mine, Pickstone mine, Etna mine, Cam and Motor mine, Patchway mine, Magisa mines, Savannah mines, and Gatawa mines.
